Blautopf in Blaubeuren, the Blue Lake of Germany – Travel Guide
This beautiful blue gem, known as Blautopf, is located in Baden-Württemberg within the Swabian Jura (Swabian Alps) in Southern Germany. The blue color of Blautopf is so stunning that it seems almost unreal. Blautopf, which means "blue pot" in English, is also called Blue Lake or Blautopf Lake. It's actually a spring that serves as the source of the River Blau, set in a karst landscape. Blautopf Lake is in the medieval town of Blaubeuren, about 20 km from Ulm, 80 km from Stuttgart, and 185 km from Munich. With my blog plan, you can explore not only Blautopf Lake but also the medieval town of Blaubeuren. Afterward, you can either stay in this enchanting town or take a short trip to the nearby medieval town of Ulm.
