Walker's Haute Route: Chamonix – Zermatt

The Haute Route is a famous six days ski touring route in winter but also a spectacular 14 days summer hike. Together with a good friend of mine we were walking this strenuous high-level traverse from Chamonix in France to Zermatt in Switzerland in summer 2014. The route traverses below the summits of ten out of the twelve of the highest peaks in the Alps and crosses several high passes. The highest pass is at 2964m (9,800ft).
