This color-by-word worksheet is a great way for young students to practice high-frequency words (animal names and colors). Using a helpful 'Color Key' at the bottom, begin by saying the color names and having students color the boxes with the appropriate colors. Then, students color the picture by comparing the words in the picture with the color key. Sight words included: orange, yellow, blue, gray, green, red, purple, white, and fish. Students can also practice writing the word ‘Fish’ by tracing the dotted word at the top of the sheet. A completed color image is included in your set and can be used however you see fit. Most of the words are included in early reader Dolch and Fry High Frequency word lists. This worksheet is aligned to the Common Core - CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.3.C. Download includes 4 pages: a coloring worksheet, a completed color image to use as you see fit, a cover and an instructions sheet for teacher reference. This adorable worksheet is part of my Animals Color-by-Word collection.
