Copper is a metal and is definitely a solid at room temperature.

Pure copper is a rare occurrence in nature. It is commonly found in minerals such as azurite, malachite, and bornite. It is obtained by smelting, leaching, and electrolysis. The image is a picture of the Kennecott copper mine in Utah.

Copper has two stable isotopes, 63Cu and 65Cu, along with 27 radioisotopes. The most stable of these is 67Cu with a half-life of 61.83 hours. The bowl in the image is made completely from copper.

The picture shows a copper mine. The metal was most likely discovered accidentally by humans digging tunnels and holes in the ground. It has been mined for more than 5000 years.
