A visit to the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum was on the top of our wish list during our ten day-trip to Malta. It is an amazing pre-historic UNESCO site, dating back until 3600 BC. The Hypogeum is an underground temple or burial place, and its walls are covered in surprisingly modern-looking decorations.
