Microbiota decussata (Russian Cypress) - Perhaps a little overused, but one of the prettiest ground covers, with it's feathery, arching branches. It is especially good for large slopes and other unusable areas as it looks dramatic massed and easily spreads to cover a large area. Comes in several multicoloured varieties as well, and foliage turns a reddish-purple in winter. Hardy everywhere in New England. 1' tall and 10' wide (at least)
