Lemmon & Basil Cashew Cream  My inspiration for this was purely seeing bright yellow lemons with their beautiful bright green leaves still attached and that was it I wanted to use them for something. So I decided to put a little twist on the classic cashew cream recipe.  I blended garlic juice of one lemon and a small bunch of basil to one cup of soaked cashews with a little added water to create the wanted consistency. We did it we d i d it!  The über simple 'crostata' with almondy custard & rhubarb made yesterday evening actually made it safe and sound to the next day's breakfast. Not even a wee slice missing until 7ish am.  By now it is almost a memory.  Classic!  by reblondonfridge

Alright friends who has tips for making perfect hashbrowns? (This is the boyfriend's latest food fixation so I'm taking it upon myself to do some instagram crowdsourcing.) I've read a lot of different tips online so far. Squeezing the grated potatoes seems key; I also see rinsing suggested a lot (but not so much that you wash away all the starches). Russets or golds? Oil or lard? Onions or no? Any other suggestions? (It should also be noted that pre-cooking is likely out of the question…
