Old Stone Church in W. Boylston, MA. It was built in 1890 but in 1900 the surrounding area was flooded as a reservoir. The church was abandoned and burned. All that is left is what you see here. Not a stick of wood remains inside, not a pew or altar or cross, just sand. It sits on the shore of a reservoir which serves as sediment basin for the the Quabbin before it reaches Boston. There is nothing else around. The surrounding town was burned down. A dignified legacy for a beautiful building.
Brunssum, the Netherlands When we moved to Holland, we lived in an hotel for 3 months before we got housing... this lake was right across that hotel from us. My boys fed a lot of ducks in this park...:)
