Woven in the Oriental style at Aubusson for the Industrial Exhibition of 1844. Aubusson, Creuse, is well-known for the manufacture of tapestries which have been famous throughout the world since the 14th century. Its origins were born with the arrival of weavers from Flanders, who took refuge in Aubusson around 1580. Great museum! nice medieval town & all about tapestry!
