Take a little design advice from the Korowai tribe of Papua in Indonesia, who live year-round in the trees. Secured to a strong banyan tree, these sky-high houses are safe from swarms of mosquitoes—and annoying neighbors.
Construction on this has spanned several years and a few redesigns. I'd wager that 90 percent of the material has been salvaged from forsaken abandonments and remodeling projects. We survived the great windstorm of 2010, but there's some more work to do before serious snow fall.
