Female Pioneers of the Bauhaus

The Bauhaus Archive in Berlin is trying to make amends with the female artists who felt marginalized at the school decades ago by celebrating their work with a set exhibitions. As the first academy for design in the world, the Bauhaus brought together the most outstanding artists, graphic artists and designers, theatre people and architects. It was simultaneously a production site and the focus of international discussions. You can read all about the teaching and the workshops, the locations of Weimar, Dessau and Berlin and the three directors Gropius, Meyer and Mies van der Rohe.
