The Eleventh Battle of the Isonzo deeply troubled Austro-Hungarian leadership. They no longer had the resources to deal with this situation and pleaded with Germany for help. Before the Italians could take advantage of their advanced position, Germany had reinforced this front to put an end to the fighting.
