Il n’y a pas de jambes ni de bras.  Bois, belle patine légèrement lustrée. Petits encroûtements à différents endroits, sur le visage peut-être traces d’huile de ricin.  Angola, Tshokwe, attribué à la 1ère moitié du 20ème siècle.  Bon état de conservation, sinon un léger manque à l’oreille droite.  H_9,2 cm. L_3,5…

Height 4 in, 3 3/4 in Collection of Dede and Oscar Feldman  The elaborate crowns represented on these whistles indicate royal stature. Chokwe and related peoples carve whistles intended to represent male and female couples, in which case the sounds of the whistles, which are interpreted as the voices of the ancestors, have distinct "male" and "female" tones.
