This rich island seems comparable to a Caribbean island getaway... except a large amount of the locals in Mauritius are of Indian descent with either a Hindu or Islamic background and so the food served at restaurants often follow the rules of these religions. Cool! This map shows some popular tourist attractions. Hopefully I can use this one day.

The social barriers break completely, friend or stranger, rich or poor, men or women, children or elders, Hindu or not, all people come together to celebrate the end of the winter season. And most important to celebrate that everyone is the same!
