Hitler with Waffen-SS Oberführer Ferdinand Porsche. His Tiger tanks were that time's most capable and powerful tanks. Dr Porsche also created the Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK, Hitler's Volkswagen ("People Car") and the first gasoline-electric hybrid (in 1898!). He was awarded the War Merit Cross. After Germany's defeat, having used slave labour, including Jews from concentration camps, he was arrested for war crimes, though no charges were filed. After some months, he was released.
The Banality of Evil: Joachim von Ribbentrop (1893-1946) was Foreign Minister of Nazi Germany from 1938 until 1945 (April 1938). A businessman, many thought him superficial and lacking in talent. He was appointed as Ambassador to Britain in 1936, and Foreign Minister in February 1938. He was tried at Nuremberg and convicted of war crimes for his role in starting World War II and enabling the Holocaust. On October 16, 1946 he became the first of those sentenced to death to be hanged.
War criminal Klaus Barbie : Klaus Barbie, Chef der Gestapo in France during his trial. He was accused of crimes against humanity and sentenced to life imprisonment. From 1942 to 1944 he was the commander of "Abteilung IV" from the "Sicherheitsdienst Außenstelle Lyon" from the Gestapo.
