Feather wheel, Brazil, Kaiapó, late 20th century. The feather wheels of the Brazilian Kaiapó Indians are one of the most spectacular feather objects of the entire Amazonas region. It is a so-called occiput feather wheel and is worn exclusively by the women at the solemn ceremony of name-giving, when children are accepted into the Kaiapó community.
