Margaret on Instagram: "Arcadia & The Coat of Dreams Oil, collected earth, raw pigment, mica, wax on canvas 121.9 x 121.9 cm 48 x 48 in @arushagallery I was tired of living in an industrial space and put this canvas in the back of my car and drove out of town. Down a dirt road to a cemetery - I like how quiet they are - in a very desert place. I threw down my painting cushion on the earth, propped the tight linen against the gate and started to work. I painted the little dwellings speckling the land and the curved hillsides. The horses in the distance and juniper trees mixed with my imagination. A figure holding the essence of earth and home with their country coat on. Maybe an old quilt that keeps you warm in the morning on your way to the kitchen for coffee. I wanted to be under that b
