Should you eat breakfast?
The truth about when you should eat your breakfast👇🥐 (please note that this is my PERSONAL experience with intermittent fasting and I don't say what is right and wrong! I simply want to raise awareness that we listen to our bodies and question diet trends) Generally, I think we shouldn't be questioning whether we should be eating or not since being human is reason enough to eat. Our body needs food to thrive! I still remember how I first heard about "intermittent fasting" and seeing people suddenly delaying their breakfast to 11am, 12pm, 1pm and suddenly thinking "should I be doing that too?" I was still very young when I saw people doing this and didn't know what to believe in myself so I just started accepting that this is what healthy people do and that if I eat later, that's bette
Healthy Eating Hack: Stop fighting your cravings! 🥐
When you crave something, it won’t go away by eating ten healthier alternatives. Ever craved a cookie, ate fruit, a granola bar, nuts, but then still wanted the cookie and ate that too? 🍪 Just have the cookie and move on. Yes, whole foods are important 🥬 Just don't be so strict on yourself & think you can’t have something because it’s “bad”. It isn't! Food is food and some of it is more nourishing than others & we want to focus on the more nutrient-dense food to take care of ourselves & perform our best ⚡️ Living a healthy lifestyle should be fun, enjoyable & make you feel great. Part of that is eating croissants, REAL pizzas (not the cauliflower stuff), ice cream, etc. And guess what? Eating a cookie doesn’t take away from all your other healthy habits
6 running tips to help you get started
Running is actually very simple: you just have to put your shoes on and run. Thinking about going for a run, buying new gear, or looking up training plans won’t make you a runner. Running will. And I think we all need to check in with ourselves sometimes, because social media can make us believe we have to be great at everything from the start. Especially when it comes to fitness. Your first run might feel hard. You might be gasping for air, your legs tired, and your mind telling you to stop. But if you stick with it, you will get better. And one day, it actually starts to feel fun.
Healthy Eating Hack for Busy Workdays
How I drink coffee without getting jittery and crashing later ☕️💥 I love working at the coffee shop, but eating breakfast there would get expensive, and pastries alone aren’t enough for a healthy start 🥐🫐. Eating breakfast at home means I’d miss my most productive morning time 👩💻⌛️. Plus, coffee on an empty stomach isn’t great for my hormones. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be hard! Simplify your morning routine by making a nutrient-packed smoothie at home 🍌🥜. Spend 5 minutes preparing it, and bring it in a flask. Enjoy a healthy breakfast on-the-go without disrupting your favorite coffee shop routine ✨.
What I eat in a day focusing on a balanced healthy lifestyle
The key to eating healthy is to balance meals with protein, carbs, and healthy fats, plus some fiber from veggies or fruit. Breakfast: Scrambled eggs for protein & to avoid blood sugar spikes, followed by a croissant & coffee with milk. Lunch: Spring rolls with leftover pasta & veggies to add nutrients without needing a big salad. Lunch can be a mix of different foods & doesn’t always need to look perfect. Post-lunch sweets: Choco petit beurre with a second coffee satisfies the sweet craving. Snack: Watermelon, simply because it’s delicious. Dinner: Roasted chicken breast with veggies on buckwheat for complex carbs, fiber, and protein, topped with avocado and mustard yogurt sauce. Dessert: Protein brownie with pistachio ice cream, berries, and granola for a sweet, fun end to the day.
The one mistake you should absolutely avoid
In the past, I increased my exercise without upping my calorie intake. Your body needs more energy to keep up and repair itself when you move more & that energy comes from eating enough. When I started my running journey, I loved it so much I couldn’t stop! I enjoyed getting faster & hitting new PBs. But soon I felt exhausted & hit a wall. I realized my diet wasn’t keeping up with my training. This year, I’m adding more carbs, proteins, and healthy fats to my meals. Listening to my body was a game-changer. Eating a balanced meal before runs and a mix of protein & carbs afterward helped me recover and feel better overall. Running isn’t just about the miles but also about how you fuel them. Eat well & your body will thank you.
Running nutrition - Eat before a run
I used to avoid eating before a run, thinking I wasn’t hungry. But was I really, or was I saving calories for later? (I’m not a calorie counter.) Shifting focus from appearance to performance changes everything. To run longer, lift heavier, or improve, you need energy. Just like a car needs fuel, your body can’t perform on empty. Where will it get the energy? (Not from coffee.) You don’t need a huge breakfast; simple carbs will fuel your run: 🍌 Bananas 🧇 White bread with jam 🍑 Dried fruits like dates or apricots 🧃 Fruit juice/smoothie 🍯 Rice cakes with honey Eat to perform better, exercise longer, run faster, lift heavier. Just eat, okay?
