First day back in my workshop yesterday and a chance to experiment with a colour version of my 'George's Pigeon'. I used a monoprint sort of technique, applying different coloured inks to the same block so each is different. What do you think? Fishing boat - in black. Minimal linoleum block print. 8x10. This original, hand-pulled linocut print of a fishing boat on the ocean was printed in black on 100% cotton Lettra paper. The linoleum block is carved by hand, inked, then each piece is printed individually. Due to the printing process, there will be variations from print to print. We were told that they’re the most dangerous animal to humans in Africa… apparently they’re grumpy beasts. I didn’t realise that they came up on land at night to graze on the grass. In the evening you could hear them munching around the grounds of the lodge. To keep us safe we had to be escorted between our room and the main building by a guard… luckily for us he was armed with a flash light 👌 😅 This was a quick but fun one.
