With George being a teacher, one that is constantly ridiculed by his wife and doesn't seem to be overly proud of what he does this tweed suit is what I envision he would be wearing. It would be tattered and worn thin on the elbows, maybe a couple small holes in the arms or vest to show that he didn't really care about his appearance.
