Have your child lay down in a comfortable position and roll the therapy ball up and down their body applying firm pressure. Proprioceptive input is one of our hidden senses (we have 8 senses total). This system provides a sense of body awareness by sending messages to receptors in our muscles and joints. They tell our bodies what each body part is doing, where our bodies are in space, and how it is moving. Providing this input helps organize the nervous system which can aid in calming children who are overstimulated or increase alertness to aid in attention.
