Shadow matching activity for students! My shadow matching activity is a bit different. It’s a great activity for the youngest of learners that are just beginning to match things. Instead of focusing on small details of an image, they just focus on the shape. This activity will lead to your learner being able to match letters to other letters, numbers to other numbers and shapes to other shapes. #matching #activity #preschool #kindergarten #free #printable

This activity was so rich with learning and discovery. It was an accidental learning experience. We started with flashlights at our block center and ended up using our projector to create shadows of different shapes and sizes. This was a great activity for imagination, discovery, and complex thinking.

This was a fun craft to help the kids to visually understand how the sun casts shadows. We used the projector to see the 'shadows' different objects make. We played a game too, I sent each kid to hunt for something in the classroom that was small enough to fit in their hand. I called them up one by one and they placed their object…

Guess who silhouette of our 3's preschool class at Noblesville Methodist preschool. We had shadow day and did this as a fun way to "keep" our shadows. The children sat between a flash light and the black paper while the teachers traced their shadows. Then we cut the out and mounted then on white paper. We added a photo of the child in the silhouette under the red paper to make this a fun game for the parents in our school. Can you guess who? We did all this as we studied ground hogs day!
