The book covers the history of the firm from its founding in 1880, through Stephane Boudin's presidency from the 1920s to 60s, and into the modern era. Jansen's trademark European style of antiques with a frequent contemporary twist is generously illustrated with an international range of projects. The book is broken down into separate chapters for each type of room, plus chapters on offices, hotels, palaces, panelling and trompe-l'oeil, and the Jansen workshops.  The famed French design house was noted for its extravagant interiors. An iconic brass palm tree illuminated wall mirror designed by Christian Techoueyres for Maison Jansen. Crafted of brass sheet metal over wood with a canopy of torch cut and welded burnished brass palm fronds. The metal is in good condition, with a nice aged patina and minor scratches. Original working lamps provide a warm ambient light. Wired through the palm trunk with a line switch on the cord. Circa 1970s.
