On a tall hill overlooking Arthur Kill Road stands the ornate and handsomely detailed 2 1/2-story Kreischer Mansion. This impressive Victorian, stick-style, frame-construction residence, designed in 1880, is dominated by a three-story polygonal tower on one corner, a balcony on the top floor, and a veranda that partially encircles the mansion. The uppermost story of the tower is open and boasts a handsome series of arches with brackets supporting the cornice of the polygonal roof above.
