AMTSGERICHT TÜBINGEN
Metamorphosis of an Imperial Military Building into the Tübingen District Court. Between 2018 and 2021, Dannien Roller Architekten implemented both the extensive renovation of the severely damaged state-owned chamber building and its functional and symbolic transformation into a modern place of jurisdiction. Dannien Roller Architekten + Partner was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
C&D OPUS CHINA
The project explores a new expression of the traditional Huizhou architectural style to bring people an original Jiangnan garden for socialising and resting at the entrance of the community. The building emphasises the black-and-white contrast between eaves, horsehead walls, windows and white walls spanning large areas in Hui style buildings. Zhejiang Qingmo Architectural Design Co., Ltd was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
VANKE ANLAN Villas
Vanke Anlan Villas are adjacent to the first settlement site of the 5,000-year-old Liangzhu civilisation. The design concept comes from the comfortable life described in the scenery of »mountain, water and light« in traditional Chinese poetry. Zhejiang Qingmo Architectural Design Co., Ltd was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Jiangyin Junhe Mansion
Jiangyin Junhe Mansion is in Jiangyin city, Jiangsu Province, which is the birthplace of Wu culture. The design bears the vision and yearning of oriental culture for life. It recreates the scenes in the landscape painting, evokes the time-honoured regional civilization, and takes Jichang Garden as the model. DO Design Group was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Reconstruction Project of Guiyang Bearing Factory
Guiyang Bearing Factory was founded in 1958. The design is based on the concepts cedar – a place of remembrance, life theatre – urban landscape, timeline – spiritual world, among other elements, and re-constructs the coexisting relationship between the spiritual world and urban life. XAA Janson Xian Architect+Associates was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Vanke Guiyang Feicui Primary School
The project is located in Guanshanhu District, Guiyang City, connecting Baihua Lake Cultural Tourism Zone in the West and Guiyang municipal government in the East. It is located at the west gate of the city. The project site is surrounded by mountains and rich in environmental resources. Walton Design & Consulting Engineering Co., Ltd. was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Urumqi rail transportation industry headquarters - Network control center
The network control centre is not only the fulcrum of the operation, but a high-end comprehensive office building as well. Programme-wise, the complexity of the building largely exceeds that of an ordinary office building. The centre needs to fulfil the requirements of a normal office, and at the same time meet the needs of the programme, facilities, environment, and security. Walton Design & Consulting Engineering Co., Ltd. was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Ideal Valley of China Railway Construction
The design gives full consideration to the relationship between the plot and the surrounding environment, integrates into nature and realises the planning concept of »birth in the landscape and aggregation in the courtyard«. The courtyard centre sets the centrally sunken courtyard and creates multi-dimensional landscape systems. WAT, the First-ever Store in Shanghai
This rectangular space is entirely clad in green terrazzo tiles. An elongated counter with a rotating belt laden with cocktails literally takes centre stage, and comes with a suspended electronic message board canopy that follows its contours. Large windows on the street side allow in floods of daylight, but also provide for a seating area. TOPOS DESIGN was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Manshan Art Center
Manshan Art Centre is located in Gongyi, Henan Province. It is the pilot project of a mountain town. The land is situated at the end of hill travelling east to west, and the south side contains the only road from the city. The hill is the natural boundary of the town, which divides the land into two areas: inside and outside. Tianzuo Architecture Science Research Institute was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Zhengzhou Grand Theater
As the highest-level performing arts landmark in the Central Plain Region of China, Zhengzhou Grand Theatre takes »A boat of art sailing on the Yellow River« as its design concept. Through contemporary architectural language, the project creates the image of a majestic ship, which conveys the significant culture and civilisation of Central Plain. The Architectural Design and Research Institute of HIT Co.,Ltd. was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Higgstec Inc. Factory | Adapt for Revival
A design centred on the concept of adaptation for revival, which sought to craft a new soul for this iconic 2008 building that served generations of locals in Yilan County Taiwan. The original structure was preserved with added layers of micro-transmittance material in five structured modules, each placed in sequence of their azimuth angle in relation to the sun to generate energy and lighting throughout the day. WANG WEINONG was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Vanke·CORNICHE
The project is situated on the north bank of Yaojiang River in Ningbo, China, surrounded by beautiful landscape, with the intention of building a community centred on waterfront life. The project is envisioned as an urban functional area, where various urban and residential functions are mixed together. SHANGHAI ZF ARCHITECTS was awarded Winner in the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture.
Sunac Chendong No. 1 Demonstration Area
This project belongs to the traditional architecture of Fujian. We see subtle details full of the symbolism of local culture and architectural forms with the unity of structure and aesthetics. We adopted modern design methods combined with local characteristic elements to derive a Chinese-style garden with international standards. Fuzhou Vanke CITY GARDEN
The project is located in Fuzhou in Fujian Province, China with rich natural green park resources. Combined with the topography and surrounding features, the demonstration area was set up at the central boundary to the residential area, and the backyard is adjacent to the city park.
