Bison monument by Meissen sculptor Max Esser, 1934. Commissioned as a monument to the successful cross-breeding of European bison and Canadian wood bison, it was originally installed on Göring’s Carinhall estate in the Schorfheide Forest. The sculpture was broken into pieces after the war and buried. Unearthed in 1990, it is now installed in the nearby town of Eichhorst.
