Patrick Dougherty es un artista especializado en lo que él mismo ha bautizado STICKWORK (Arte con palos). Recoge la actividad artesana de los cesteros y aportar la dosis de creatividad suficiente para formar estos enormes nidos (a escala humana) dotados de puertas y ventanas y con formas variadas tomadas de todo el mundo: Templetes, pagodas, conchas, chozas, imágenes antropomorfas. Sus obras tienen un ciclo de vida natural.
