Smugglers - Culver Hole in Port Eynon on the Gower peninsula in Swansea, South Wales - A local legend has smugglers using pigeon post to give advance warning of the custom men's arrival, but this story probably started because Culver hole was at one time used as a pigeon loft, quite separately from its role as a contraband store.
