Sir Evelyn and Lady de Rothschild's Gracious Hideaway on Martha's Vineyard
Reclaimed timber beams accent the barnlike common room at Lynn and Sir Evelyn de Rothschild’s Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, home, which was built by Rivkin/Weisman Architects and decorated by Mark Cunningham; the landscape design is by Horiuchi Solien. Circa-1930 lanterns (one is pictured) from Ann-Morris hang from the ceiling, and an artwork by Callum Innes is mounted above the fireplace.
Dutch castle - Utrecht, Netherlands - IF this is the neo-gothic Castle De Haar - it was built by one of the Rothschilds & her husband, in 1892 on the ruins of the original 1391 castle which burned down in 1482 & was rebuilt in the 1500s. Its childless owner died in 1641 & it was left to decay until it came into the Rothschild family.
