Sanssouci Castle - Potsdam, Germany. Frederick the Great of Prussia built the palace as his summer escape, where he could live without a care - 'sans souci'. While Sanssouci is in the more intimate Rococo style and is far smaller than its French Baroque counterpart, it too is notable for the numerous temples and follies in the park.
The Heilbronner Portal in Friedenskirche (Church of Peace, Potsdam, Germany) leads from the cloister area to the Maryl Garden. It is a replica of a Romanesque portal at the Heilsbronn monastery in Franconia. The church is part of the palace grounds of Sanssouci Park under the patronnage of King Frederick William IV.
