Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014) was just 46 when he died. An American actor and director, Best known for his distinctive supporting and character roles – typically lowlifes, bullies, and misfits – Hoffman was a regular presence in films from the early 1990s until his death at age 46. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 2005 biographical film Capote.
