January 28th, 1933: Schleicher resigned as Chancellor when Hindenburg refused to grant him another dissolution of the Reichstag.
Kurt von Schleicher, German minister of war. He was executed by Nazis on a charge of treason, in 1934.

I talked with Lonny von Schleicher in the early nineties while I was living in Augsburg Germany and I invited her to our church there. She traveled around the world a whole lot back then, but happened to be in Munich at the time. Enjoyed listening to her. Very interesting lady. She is the stepdaughter of my great uncle, the former German Chancellor, Kurt von Schleicher, and she of course vividly recalls how she personally experienced the day of the horrific murder of both of her parents…
Kurt von Schleicher (1882 – 1934) was a German general and the last Chancellor of Germany during the era of the Weimar Republic. Engineered the removal of Chancellor Bruening and Defense Minister Groener. Assassinated by order of his successor, Adolf Hitler, in the Night of the Long Knives.
