Wells Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral in Wells, Somerset, England. Built between 1175 and 1490, the nave and transept are examples of the Early English style of architecture. It was largely complete at the time of its dedication in 1239. The interior of Wells Cathedral is a beautiful example of Early English Gothic architecture. Its long nave terminates in one of the three scissor arches that were added to support the central tower which was in danger of collapse in 1338.
