Helena Rizzo: The World's Best Female Chef 2014

Celebrated South American chef HELENA RIZZO grew up in the southernmost state of Brazil. After a brief flirtation with architecture school and modeling, she packed her bags for Spain to learn about experimental cooking. She married the Spanish chef Daniel Redondo. Both have worked in restaurants in Barcelona and Catalonia that are known for "science food." They have opened their own restaurant, the Brazilian-Spanish eatery Maní, in São Paulo. (It is Daniel who is now displaced!)
