Clare Rojas at Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen • Selectism
Clare Rojas (born 1976) is an internationally shown artist who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is "known for creating powerful folk-art-inspired tableaus that tackle traditional gender roles." She works in a variety of media, including painting, installations, video, and children's books. In her more recent work, Rojas has moved from figurative paintings into pure geometric abstraction.
Diebenkorn moved from abstract expressionism in the 1940s into figurative painting-he led the Bay Area Figurative Movement in the 1950s-and back into the abstract, producing elegant, thought-provoking works exemplified by those reproduced in this notecard set from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. 20 assorted 5'' x 7'' blank notecards (5 each of 4 styles) with envelopes in a decorative box.
