During WW2 the US continued fielding horse cavalry units and practice training.The last horse Army cavalry charge took place against Japanese forces during fighting in Bataan in the village of Morong on 16 Jan 1942, by the 26th Cavalry Regiment of the Philippine Scouts.

Remembering my father, Bruce Choate: Bataan Death March Survivor. Rescued from Cabanatuan Prison.


On April 10th, 1942 the Bataan death march began. Over 75,000 American and Filipino troops were forced marched over 60 miles to a prison camp. Of those forces that began the march, only 13,000 would survive to see the end of the war. Please take a moment to remember those brave veterans and the ordeal they endured in service to our Nation. Army Strong!
