To teach reading 1.) Teach the letters in frequency order and not all at once. 2.) Call the letters by their sounds, not their names. 3.) Use lowercase letters first. 4.) Always put the vowel in the front or middle if teaching the short sound. 5.) Use the pencil reading blending technique as taught in the Learn Reading program.
