THE GLOBAL TREE NETWORK: Reconnect with nature at Damanhur eco-society | The Mindful Word
THE GLOBAL TREE NETWORK: Find healing in trees. The Global Tree Network is an effort to orient trees around the world. Through an energetic, vibrational connection to Damanhur, people with a specially made Damanhur pendulum circle a tree (preferably a mature tree of great stature) thereby igniting the connection between trees and humans. http://www.globaltreenetwork.com

Orienting trees is an exercise in grounding and connecting to the Earth for Matthew Rogers, an Initiate of the Damanhur School of Meditation who lives part of the year in Chicago, Illinois USA and the rest in the Netherlands. He shares about how orienting trees is also a chance for him to connect to cosmic forces.

I lead to an ancient alliance, I orient, choose, balance human and plant forces... I orient human, powerful minds, to their natural forgotten task: the harmony of all, the living whole that requires the consent of the green species...

In 2010, I completed a Selfic Painting Cabin in California, where I live part of the time, and the work with it has led me to a world and a perception of energy that I could never have dreamed possible. One of the most significant results of our group's work in the Selfic Painting Cabin has been the opening to a new world of trees. Messages we received during our meditations and explorations in the Cabin have guided my friends and me into a deep work with community and with trees and nature.

We have oriented trees in the parks of the Laxenburg Castles. These castles have magnificent landscapes and a history that goes back to the end of the 13th century. They are one the most significant sites for landscape art from the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, this area is a green oasis that offers a haven of beauty and peace to everyone. Orienting these trees certainly adds to this positive effect!

Reaching skyward within an intimately small circle of redwoods, enveloped in thick warm sunlight, my fingertips find the crisp chocolate bark of the Big Sentinel, presiding over the mountaintop garden, humming with sounds of the forest.
