A chocolate factory becomes a dream home
For many people, the idea of living in a (former) chocolate factory sounds like a long-held childhood dream come true. And for a young family in Belgium, this really is the case. Furnished with treasured items from their travels, every day feels like a holiday. Credit: Stephanie Füssenich
Kitchen, Hürth
We were able to implement a very minimalist kitchen project in Hürth. The room essentially consists of two central, cubic elements with lots of great details. The kitchen island is made entirely of ceramic in a terrazzo look and offers enough work surface for cooking and space for various drawers, a dishwasher, an undermount sink and a flush-mounted Bora cooktop. In the tall unit behind it, there is plenty of storage space for provisions and all appliances such as an oven, fridge and under-worktop freezer. In the middle section of the cabinet, a slideaway bar can be opened as required and then closed again behind pocket doors. Greige meets terrazzo!
Step into the architects award winning home — Nordiska Kök
The kitchen, much like the house in its entirety, feature plenty of natural surfaces. Think soothing brown oak and contrasting grey plaster. Appliances are all built-in for a sophisticated feel. The kitchen countertop comes in grey quartzite. Discover the latest kitchen and Scandinavian interior trends and design at @nordiskakok
