This is in downtown Kingsport, Tennessee (painted with gouache in my sketchbook) but you wouldn't know, right? As soon as the terrain is smightly elevated there's a lovely view into the distance in those Appalachian lands. 😍

Every time we go past this view on the way out of Wears Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, I fall in love. And want to stop and paint! This is a gouache interpretation of the view.

Once a year, I have the great fortune to be able to watch American Robins doing what they do. This one was fighting to pull out a worm. It didn't seem to mind that I was there, too.
